This is a Neoasaphus Kowalewski from Wolchow
River, near St. Petersburg, Russia. I love this little guy. His name is
Neo. He sits
atop my desk and guards my office.
Neo lived approximately 510
million years ago in the Ordovician Period during the Paleozoic
Era. A simpler time, if you were a bug. Neo is about 250 million
years older than the Dinosaurs that my kids like.
He is a near perfect example of the Russian Stalk-eyed
trilobites. This specimen has excellent color and detail. Neo is a very
clean trilobite. He is proudly centered on a large 6" X 7" piece of
matrix. Neo is a very collectible trilobite and he displays beautifully.
